I used to get migraines all the time; at least 3 a week. Out of desperation, because all of the meds I've tried stopped working for me, I decided to get this bad boy done...

while she was doing it. But, you know what? The migraine I had when I walked in there disappeared. I had it done three weeks ago. I haven't had a migraine since.
Do you have any idea how monumental that is for me? In the past 30+ years, haven't gone 3 days in a row without waking up with a migraine, let alone 3 weeks in a row. Bonus: on Tuesdays and Thursdays piercing is buy one get one free at the place I had mine done. So, I got the Tragus of the opposite ear done at the same time. Both piercings and the after care product they recommend were under fifty bucks, total.

I've managed to read a bunch of good fics in the past 4+ weeks since the last time I blogged here. Do you want to know what a few of them are?
I could tell you. I'm not afraid. Totally. Just ask the hypocrite who was on the receiving end of me standing up for my friend.

A couple of weeks before I went on my unforgivably long hiatus, I re-read Cullenary Coupling by BookishQua. I love that story so much!
Summary: What if Edward lied to everyone, & it really was all about Bella's scent? AU of entire TS on how, why, & when ExB fell in love using a completely different plot. Romance, hilarity, mystery and angst. Rated M. Canon Couples. Dark Edward, Lots of Snark

What if in the beginning Edward lied to everyone about being in love with Bella? What if originally it actually was all about Bella's scent? And what would happen then if accidentally, much against his will, Edward kind of sort of fell head over heels in love with this not-so-dull human girl?
This is an AU of the Twilight saga using an entirely different plot as to how, why, and when Edward and Bella fell in love. It offers a different explanation for what was so special about Bella Swan, why Edward vigilantly enforced those physical boundaries, why there's tension between the Cullens and the wolves, and why Edward behaved the way he did not only with Bella but with his family. Expect romance, mystery, angst and humor. Dark Edward.
Canon pairings rule here. There is no ExBxJ triangle (thank goodness), Tanya starts out being a heinous bitch but she redeems herself both pretty quickly and again near the end of the story (through some major persuasion by someone unexpected).
I love Cullenary Coupling. I can't say it enough. I can't recommend it enough. If you haven't ever read it, don't waste your time here, go read it!

Another story I recently had the opportunity to read is called Days Like This by Soft Ragoo.
Summary: Bella and her newborn adjust to their life together but it seems everywhere they go, they encounter the same man with the captivating eyes and sexy smile. Edward's life lacks something he desires. Has he been handed a challenge or a reward?
Bella is a 26-year-old photographer who gets pregnant. Her ex, Jacob Black, wants nothing to do with either Bella or her baby, so she decides she is going to raise her little angel on her own. However, Bella doesn't count on the gorgeous ob/gyn who falls in love with her daughter, his Sunshine.
I swear, if anyone is on a quest to find the sweetest Edward in existence, it's this Edward in this story. He's just so wonderful in Days Like This. He falls in love with the baby first, but quickly falls in love with her mother, as well.

Yet another story I read and enjoyed enough to include here is called Chain Reaction by araeo.
Summary: A chance encounter with a stranger on the ferry is the spark that sets off a chain of events. By the time Bella realizes what's happening, is it too late to change her mind? What happens when fate grabs you and won't let go?
In Chain Reaction, Edward is a vampire who hasn't been abstaining from drinking from humans for long when he comes across Bella Swan. A woman whose scent makes him want to fall off the wagon, but more importantly, she is his mate.
Edward drank from humans for years after his 'sister' Alice had a vision of him killing a dark-haired human girl and convinced the rest of their family that caging him was for the best. Once he escaped his confinement, he didn't look back. Until it was time to meet the girl from the vision for himself.
Bella, of course, is Edward's singer, and the very same dark-haired girl from that vision Alice had. Edward had decided to just kill her, but then he actually met and talked to her and decided he needed to keep her with him. When she is almost killed while doing her job, he risks exposure to save her life.
Chain Reaction is a terrific story. Araeo is a great writer and now I've read two stories by her that have gone high up on my favorites list.
